This is my first post on web designing. I am going to create a series of blogs on web designing which will provide you all important concepts about web designing. In my first post i will introduce you with what web designing is all about and what points you should keep in mind while doing web designing.

Web designing is very important for any website. If a website is designed properly and with creative mind then it is sure to attract thousands of users to your site this will not only increase traffic to your site but will also help to improve its ratings. Some important tips that you should keep in mind while creating websites are:--

1. Color scheme should be chosen properly :
If your company has some logo then choose color scheme that matches with the logo of your company. If logo of your company does not exist then choose some basic colors and stick to them through out the site. Do not change the color scheme with every page. If you are not able to chooses color then surf the net and choose the color scheme of the site which you like.

2. Provide easy navigation:
Visitors should be able to navigate your site with ease. Navigation menu should be simple and easy to use. You should provide the users with the facility where they can post their comments about the site and also if they have any query they can also post you that.

3. Background
Background should be such that user should be able to read the text with out any difficulty. The links should also be visible before and after they have been visited.If you have dark background your links should be of light color.

4. Site Map & Search Feature

If you website is more than 15 pages, it is useful to have a site map or a “Search” feature to ensure your visitors can easily find what they’re looking for.

5. Content
The content of the site should be given the utmost importance. The content should be relevant to your site. Good content helps to bind visitors and more and more visitors will come back to revisit your site if you provide them with good content.
While it is important that your website looks clean and professional, it is far more important that you concentrate your efforts on the content and promotion.

If you want a professional website, things to stay away from include:

1. Flash intros, revolving globes, beveled line separators, animated mail boxes
2. Loads of pop up or pop under boxes
3. Auto play music. Allow your customer to play music only if they choose.
4. Hit counters of the free variety, which say “you are 27th visitor”
5. Date and time stamps, unless your website is updated daily or weekly
6. Busy backgrounds.
